About This Song (This scene was cut from the original stage production during previews for reasons of time. It took place after "The Contest" and before "Wait". It is included as an appendix to the vocal score because the authors feel it helps particularize the character of Judge Turpin. It is also included on the original cast cd in the correct sequence and the "Sweeney Todd In Concert" dvd)
This music ranks right up there with "Epiphany"-- instruments swell and fade to the point you're not sure what is playing where.
On another note: I think that only Stephen Sondheim could actually write a song being sung by a perverted old man while voyeuristically watching a female through a keyhole and flagellating himself into an orgasm
