It\'s perfect!
(By Phantom on 28-Mar-2008)
I love the original! Both the original and banjo hoedown are awesome! For those who hate it: don't say that it ruins it. Cause it doesn't! I don't think anyone watches the real opera and goes "Hoedown Phantom!" because of this midi. We all still know and love the original. But this is totally like a Phantom of the Opera outtake/blooper/spoof! Everyone still loves the original, but spoofs on the side are priceless! XD LOVE IT!!!

I have now worked professionally on over 1,000 performances of Phantom. This is the one we play on the fit up and/or de-rig. And you should have seen Andrew (Lord Webber)'s face the first time! He loves it!!

Can a phantom play a banjo?
(By Dave on 03-Mar-2007)
the banjo kind of overpowers the original phantom tune. might sound better if it weren't so much louder than the background music. kind of uplifting though.

-_-; This may be one of the most controversial MIDIs I'll ever know -_-;. (I'm definitely going to be a musical convert; musical stereotypes have got to stop.) Please take a look at my other comments. Ignore the first on if you want, but try not to ignore the second one, because it may be useful for people who don't want to hear the banjo.

Country?
(By Louise on 12-Aug-2006)
When I heard this, a man in a plaid shirt, old jeans, suspenders, and wheat hanging out of his mouth playing the banjo. Thats not what I came to this site to think of. I wanted to go into my own little world of phantom, and just take the music in, but I couldn't! GET RID OF THE FRIKIN' BANJO!!!

And for those of you who don't want to hear the banjo, scroll down to the near bottom of the page and click the link where it says Track-5: Banjo. Or specifically Listen (Remove Track)in that section. Just forgot to mention it after...two months.

It's a shame that some people fail to see that life is here to be enjoyed. I think this midi is fantastic! We were looking for backing music for our daughter to sing after a funeral, and when we found this, we were lifted!! Absolutely brilliant!

I LOVE THIS MIDI!
(By Anonymousia on 30-Apr-2006)
This is one of the most unique MIDIs I've ever listened to! I love uniqueness in anything at all! I even have a story I'm working on called "The Phantom of the West", and whenever I open it up, I play this MIDI. I found this on another site awhile ago, but I'm just so happy you created this! You're AWESOME:)!

What is with the Banjo?! That is so funny. I think it kind of spoiled it a bit but it kind of puts a picture of the Phantom playing a banjo. I loved it. Overall I think this was a very different version too normal. :)

AAAAAAAAAAHAHAHAHA! it was alright untill the Banjo came in. I didnt know the phantom was a hill Billy!! this is truely the most shocking version i have heard yet. The phantom of the opera is a tragedy and a thrilling love story, Obviously this music proves how tragic it is but wheres the mysterious and gloomy music that makes it a beautiful story. doesnt work. As a massive fan- dissapointed. But thanks for the laugh

I have not laughed this hard in forever! I love how you think the banjo is gone after the first verse...then BOOM! It starts in again. Also i have this great mental image at the end of Christine singing her heart out and the Phantom sounds like he's having a spaz with his banjo.

(By

Well, whoever made this, I truly thank you for making this so I could stumble upon in and laugh my head of with its... uniqueness. I remember the first time I ever heard it, I was sleeping over at a friend's house. It started to play with the voilins and we thought it would be all creepy. Then the banjos started and we looked at each other and started flopping on the floor like fish! This version has inspired many plays and such and I truly enjoy it!

Banjo Phantom
(By Phil on 18-Dec-2004)
That has to be the funniest thing I have heard in a long time. The Phantom of the Opera on a Banjo. I would like to thank the author for Giving myself, a very poor pub type singer, a backing track i can sing along to and for giving my family half an hour of hysterics.
