As a musical director I am consistently seeing midi tracks being used for smaller theatre productions. This does not bother me but when it sounds like a cheap early nineties keyboard I tend to get worried. Midi has evolved people educate yourselves before getting ripped off if you are buying tracks from people who have not yet updated their equipment and are charging you an arm for not the best quality of tracks. just listen to some here broadwaymaestrotracks.com
