Hi,

Is it possible to use Kontakt in standalone mode as a MIDI instrument for my sequencer, if my sequencing software is on the same machine as Kontakt.

The reason I am asking is this: I use Magix Music Studio 2004 Deluxe for sequencing. MS2004 is very similar to Emagic Logic in terms of its plug-in architecture. Basically, if you want to use Kontakt as a plug-in, you add an "Audio Instrument" track and add Kontakt as the plug-in for this track.

Unfortunately, there is no way to get the other tracks (Audio Instrument tracks *or* MIDI tracks) to "see" this instance of Kontakt. So if you want to do a multitrack arrangement using Kontakt as a plug-in, it appears that you would need to create multiple "Audio Instrument" tracks and set Kontakt as a plug-in for each one. In other words, you would have multiple instances of the Kontakt plug-in running - which I predict could get quite resource-intensive.

Instead, I figured it would be easy to simply run one single instance of Kontakt in standalone mode, and then configure my sequencing software (running on the same PC) to see Kontakt as it were a regular MIDI instrument. But I can't seem to do this.
