Hi,

It appears we have at least a few fans here. Which is awesome! So for anybody that loves jazz, this is the place to discuss, contemplate, quote, recommend, etc. For me, I'm a post-bop fan. Sonny Rollins, Horace Silver, Max Roach...and throw in some Mingus for good measure. I am a free jazz and fusion fan for the most part. i like improvisation, so later Miles Davis and anything that uses the "Flat 9" theory. Post bop is good and I still like be-bop. I am a huge fan of Ornette Coleman...he could make his instrument sound like anything but mostly he chose insects. Bill Dixon and Sun Ra are favorites of mine. Pithocanthrupus Erectus by Charles Mingus is a great album and was a great innovation at the time.
