I'm an amateur midi composer and I wondered, do people here feel like giving me some quick evaluation? It's not easy to find people interested in midis in this world. icon_neutral.gif

This is something I'm working on right now, a bit out of ideas...

I heard the whole piece and I think ideas is what you can spare.

At first it begins like a grandiose piece something proper for a warriors movie saga.

After that you struggle hard to get a way and then it turns into a tropical rhythm breaking the spell.

I think you got to organize your ideas if it's a piece of magestic vibrations or other kind of music you want to create.

Then separate your ideas into different compositions. Usually trying to merge different ideas is not the right thing to do, and your piece is an example.

I think you are a great musician, have sense of rhythm an tonality.

Good Luck! icon_wink.gif

Thanks for the comments!

I probably should have mentioned what it's for also. It's intended for an RPG boss fight. Or, it would be, if it wasn't practice, but that's what it would be if it was really meant for something.

I really like both "parts" of it, so maybe I'll rather try to make a longer and smoother transition.

Yeah, it's been a while since I made this topic, but I thought I could as well use it again rather than make a new one.

I made something yesterday that I really like, and would like some others' opinions on...

I'm really impressed by your first song Bustus, good job. icon_biggrin.gif It sounds like a great fit for an old school SNES game.

Your second song is also good, but I feel the harp could be improved a little bit, because it sounds kinda off from the rest of the song when it was doing its solo (before the flute came in). If you know what I'm talking about.

I am glad I looked on this site before I done anything. My friend e-mailed me your song and asked me to fix and lengthen it. I did as he asked and I was about to upload what I had made. It was midi17095. I turned it into a Rock/Metal song. I was even writing lyrics for it. I need to stop blabbing on and on and get down to the point...What would you like me to do with your song? Continue modifying it, upload what I have and leave it alone, or delete everything I've done? Your call...

Ok, I have no idea why your friend would send you that midi, but... By all means, it's just something I put together as practice, so if you have any use for it, go ahead, do whatever you want with it.

I'd love to hear the final results though. I'm curious as to what exactly it is you've managed to do with it. ^^'

On that note, here's something I've been working on for a friend. I'm usually very skeptical about guitar in midis, but I couldn't resist in this one.

Mind the questionable quality of the Quicktime player. I'd suggest just saving the midi and listening to it WMP or something.
