Right first of all, i am fed up of people saying it is in Drop D. IT ISN'T!!!
It sounds perfect the way i play it and when they play it live, they dont move their hands up and down the fret board likes turds in blenders.

play chorus riff with both guitars until end when 1 guitar holds the open e chord, the other
plays 17 on the b string and hammering on and off on 2 below the fret ur on, while going down in twos,
then play the highest note you can on the whole fretboard, both guitars then play e and stop.
